Desire

Good Morning Students.

Today our lesson is about desire. It is the spark of all the fires within us. Our desires are with us at birth, like a hidden treasure chest of possibilities for us to discover as we grow and evolve into who we are meant to be. Hence the term "God-given talent" ....

Desire is a natural motivator, a catalyst for change. Some very human (and personal) examples are the bride-to-be that quickly and easily loses weight (say 40lbs) just months before the wedding...the desire to look good in a dress in front of a crowd is greater than the desire to eat another cookies by george...

Another is the desire to leave a marriage. There exists a place I like to call "too bad to stay but not bad enough to leave" where every day is agonizingly miserable, but not quite miserable enough to go apartment hunting. One day, a tipping point is reached, where the desire for inner happiness outweighs the desire to have "a normal life" for the children. Then somehow the universe steps in, finds a way for you to have the strength and support to take the long walk out the front door with a few bags of clothes.

So today we are asked to revisit desire.
What do you desire? both in the outer world and the inner.
Why?
What will you experience if you manifest this desire?

It helps to have a vision board. Which to me, consistes of a piece of paper with stickmen and childlike sketches, complete with speech bubbles. I do them often, they all pretty much say the same things, growing in simplicity over the years...first my vision was very career and ego oriented, have a gym, have employees, make a certain income, do a certain number of triathlons or races every year,....now my desires are somewhat ethereal...

inner peace
be conflict and worry free
Grace and forgiveness to myself and others
have meaningful relationships with my boys, my friends, my lifepartner
have amazing life experiences and adventures

What I will experience when I manifest these desires, and I will, is that I will be living my best life.

Which I suppose is the point of this whole exercise. When we think it, speak it and write it down, it becomes real.
I desire to live my best life.

You?
